If you are interested in donating items for the silent auction\, please contact Lily Van Allen at lily.vanallen@my.uwrf.edu\n\n\n\nStudents in a Sales Promotions and Event Planning class at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) are proud to announce that they are hosting the Third Annual Gift and Thrift event on Dec. 7\, 2023. This year\, the holiday-themed event is raising funds for EBeauty Community\, a nonprofit organization that provides wigs to individuals experiencing medical hair loss.\n\n\n\nThe Third Annual Thrift and Gift will take place in the University Center Falcon's Nest from 4-6:30 p.m. In addition to the thrift sale and make and take crafts\, there will also be a silent auction. Students will be accepting donations of gently used clothing items\, shoes\, bags and books until Dec. 5\, 2023. Donation boxes will be set up throughout the UWRF campus\, including several boxes at the Falcon Center where community members will be able to drop off their items.\n\n\n\n"As someone who is looking to pursue event planning and nonprofit work after graduation\, this class has been the perfect experience and environment for me\," said student Lily Van Allen. "And the experience is even greater knowing that our work is giving back to people in need."\n\n\n\nIn the twelve years since the creation of the Sales Promotion and Event Planning class\, Marketing Communications students at UWRF have raised a total of over $60\,000 in cash and merchandise donations for various charitable organizations and causes around the world.\n\n\n\nThis is an entirely student-run event and requires the support of local businesses. If you would like to sponsor the event or provide a silent auction donation\, contact Lily Van Allen at lily.vanallen@my.uwrf.edu.\n\n\n\nAbout EBeauty Community\, Inc.\n\nEBeauty Community\, Inc. (EBeauty) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to improve the quality of life of women undergoing treatment for cancer\, alopecia\, and other medically related hair loss. Currently\, EBeauty is the only national wig exchange program in the United States. They have partnered with Paul Mitchell Schools to clean and maintain donated wigs and have a Health Alliance Partnership Program with hospitals and cancer resource centers across the country to distribute wigs.
