Meet Minneapolis mystery writer Laura Childs, bestselling author of the Tea Shop, the Scrapbook, and Cackleberry Club cozy mystery series and the Afton Tangler thriller series. She will discuss how she got started as an author, how she writes, and will give tips for would-be authors. Bring your questions for a lively discussion about the author life. 

Laura Childs was a writer/producer at several national ad agencies, then headed her own company, Mission Critical Marketing, as CEO and Creative Director. Eventually she decided to try her hand at writing screenplays. Four screenplays later without selling a single one, she then turned to writing mysteries. After writing two manuscripts the planets aligned, and she connected with a great agent and a visionary editor. She has since sold her ad agency and now write mysteries full time.
