The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau and its partner The Phipps Center for the Arts have made the difficult decision to cancel the Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2020, because of COVID-19.
Unfortunately, the recent outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the St. Croix River Valley area has underscored the likelihood that the virus will continue to be a concern this fall and the restrictions on large group gatherings to no more than 50 people will be extended. Other factors that impacted our decision include:
·Potential fear of consumers and artists to gather in large groups.
·Reduced sponsorship amounts as businesses have been negatively impacted over the last four months.
·Planning, infrastructure and advertising expenses cannot be recovered if the event does not take place.
·Potential difficulty recruiting volunteers because of safety concerns.
We hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe. We look forward to the opportunity to work together to create a bigger and better Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival in 2021!
