Lead Occupational Therapist

St Croix Therapy, an innovative, non-profit, out-patient clinic, is seeking a Lead Occupational Therapist to treat the pediatric population, as well as, be a leader for the Occupational Therapy Team.

This is a full-time position offering 34-40 hours per week and is benefit eligible for the benefits noted below.
The schedule may include up to 2 evenings per week until 7:00PM and within the clinic’s operating hours of Monday-Thursday 8:00AM – 7:00PM and Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs all duties in compliance with clinic policies and procedures.
  • Performs in depth clinical assessments; identifying client needs and appropriateness of care for children who demonstrate self-regulation, social-emotional, motor, and executive function difficulties.
  • Document, prepare/revise, and complete daily notes, Plan of Care, progress notes, and other clinical records in a timely manner.
  • Identifies other client needs and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Assures continuance of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing a home care program.
  • Communicates with others to facilitate coordination of client care.
  • Supervise and collaborate with Occupational Therapy Assistants to accomplish treatment plans and goals.
  • Mentors therapy assistants and new graduates in training program.
  • Supervision of Therapy Team 
  • Provide clinical reasoning and problem solving to ensure support of Therapists, Clients, and Team. 
  • Lead Therapy Team meetings, as needed. 
  • Perform administrative duties, such as, assisting with Therapy Team members and their performance. 
  • Assist Human Resources Department with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of team members, as appropriate. 
  • Support Therapists to ensure clinical competency, in collaboration with Clinical Manager and Human Resources Department as needed. 
  • Support team members with their ongoing continuing education and licensing requirements, as well as, continuing to build innovative and evidence-based treatment programs. 
  • Coordinate student internships and support clinical instructors. 
  • Therapy Department Operations 
  • Assist with process improvement of operational procedures, policy and systems that best serve the clients and staff. 
  • Collaborate with Clinical Manager to support insurance and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Represent St Croix Therapy through participation and leadership of the engagement and fundraising initiatives to support the clinic’s mission. 
 
Education/Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of outpatient clinic experience required. 
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Currently hold or eligible for Wisconsin state licensure.
  • NBCOT certification required.
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and neurological conditions is preferred.

  • Must be willing to treat children using sensory- and play-based techniques to enhance developmentally appropriate skills and utilize techniques in a therapeutic pool.
  • Ability to work independently as well as ability to work alongside Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical, and Speech Therapists in a collaborative environment.
