Totally tubular time
Pretty much every kid in the Midwest loves a good tubing hill. The Badlands Snow Park is the oldest and one of the most popular snow tubing parks in the Midwest. With over twenty-five acres and seven separate hills, including several of the tallest, steepest and longest in the country, you’re in for the tubing ride of your life. What’s also great about the Badlands Snow Park is that they have five tow ropes, so you’re not waiting in long lines and running out of breath, hauling yourself back up and down the hill. Badlands Snow Park isn’t just for kids, adults love it too!

It's such a cool and unique tubing experience, so if you haven’t been yet, this is the winter to go! You can get your tickets ahead of time online, making it easy and convenient.

Llamas, alpacas and sheep–oh my!
Located just outside of Hudson, Eagle Eye Farm is home to the sweetest pack of llamas, alpacas, pigs, babydoll sheep, miniature Shetland Ponies and more. What could be more fun than spending an entire day making memories with your family at one of the most unique farms around.

You’ll definitely want to book your tour ahead of time, either online or by calling. Their educational farm tours last approximately one hour and are a great learning experience for all ages. One of their very knowledgeable staff members will tell you all about the animals and allow you to get up close and personal with many of them. They also offer feed for a small price, so you can feed some of the animals as well. If you fall in love with the farm and the animals – like most people do – go back for some alpaca yoga when the weather warms up!

Family-friendly foodie spots
There are a ton of great family-friendly dining options in Hudson, but one that always makes a big impression is Keys Café. Why do you ask? Well, because you can get a pancake bigger than your head there, and who doesn’t love that! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner–it’s a great choice any time of the day. And don’t forget to grab a made-from-scratch dessert on your way out!

Another great option is Bricks Neapolitan Pizza, located right downtown. Inspired by Naples, Italy, their traditional pizza is cooked entirely by oak firewood using local, in-season ingredients, making this a destination hot spot. They also take reservations, so be sure to snag one before they fill up.

Stay in comfort
With a full weekend of things to do, see, and eat, you’ll want to check out one of the many great hotels right in town that offer a variety of family-friendly amenities. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton, Best Western Plus and Comfort Suites Hudson are all great options if you’re looking for a heated indoor pool for the kids to enjoy.

These are just a few fun things you can do while making new memories and enjoying a winter weekend getaway with the whole family in charming Hudson. Start planning and booking now; we know you’ll be glad you did!
