In Hudson, finding fun things to do on Father’s Day is a walk in the park. Hudson’s parks and outdoor attractions offer countless golfing, hiking, biking, boating, and fishing options to keep the whole family happy. The fun doesn’t stop with outdoor adventures, though.  Downtown also serves up plenty of opportunities to drink, dine, and explore.  

The best Father’s Day presents are experiences shared together. So, create some happy memories this year and head for these Hudson hotspots. 



Get Outdoors 
Father’s Day is right in the middle of the nicest weather month the Midwest has to offer. If you want to take advantage of the beauty of the season, these outdoor activities are the perfect way to spend the day with dad. 

Father’s Day Golf
If dad’s a golf aficionado, then the Hudson area is an absolute hole in one choice for Father’s Day. There are four separate courses to choose from: 

Available tee times can be viewed and reserved online on each course’s website. Just don’t wait too long to pick yours – Father’s Day weekend is one of the most popular golfing weekends. 

Hiking and Biking with Dad
For families looking to explore the outdoors together, there’s no better option than visiting Hudson’s beautiful parks and trails. Walking, hiking, and particularly biking are popular Father’s Day activities in our neck of the woods. Best of all, Hudson has trails for every experience level. 

Young families and those looking for a more leisurely experience can visit the charming Lakefront Park, right in downtown Hudson. It’s a perfect choice for walking and cycling, with plenty of food, drink, and shopping options nearby. 

If dad’s a serious cyclist looking for a challenge, the 62-mile circle tour starting in Grandview Community Park is a rewarding trip to take together. You’ll pass through a striking variety of landscapes including six different lakes, rolling hills, and a rustic roadway on this substantial route. 

Other hiking and biking options include: 
Father’s Day Fishing and Boating
The river and lakes surrounding Hudson are iconic options for fishing and boating trips. If you or dad already have a boat, there are three different launches to choose from: 
  • Corky’s Pier – a public ramp on Lake Mallalieu. This 289-acre lake is a popular choice for boating, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. This lake does not connect to the St. Croix River, however. 
  • Ferry Landing – a boat launch into the St. Croix River, located in the village of North Hudson. 
  • Lakefront Park – a popular public boat launch situated in downtown Hudson. Requires a small fee to use. 
For those looking to rent paddleboards, kayaks, or canoes, there are also several watercraft rental outfits nearby including in Homestead Parklands on Perch Lake and Glen Hills Park on Glen Lake. 



Spend Some Quality Time Downtown 
In addition to the many outdoorsy Father’s Day ideas we’ve already touched on, Hudson has plenty of in-town fun to offer. Tours and shopping options abound, with something to suit just about anyone’s interest including:  Sweets and Treats

If you’re just looking for a nice environment to sit and chat with dad this Father’s Day, then why not keep things simple and tasty? Hudson has a number of bars, breweries, and distilleries that are a wonderful choice for sampling something delicious, together.

Hudson has some great choices for kicking back with dad and enjoying a few pints. If he’s a fan of breweries, then Hop & Barrel Brewing Company is calling your name. Their taproom and patio are dog friendly and furnished for fun with sixteen taps and games like pinball and skeeball.

Distilleries 
If you want to treat dad to a custom cocktail or two, then Hudson’s two distilleries are ready to serve. Both Lucky Guys Distillery and Tattersall Distillery offer tours (book online ahead of time) and both serve cocktails and food on site.
