If dad’s a golf aficionado, then the Hudson area is an absolute hole in one choice for Father’s Day. There are four separate courses to choose from:

• White Eagle Golf Club

Available tee times can be viewed and reserved online on each course’s website. Just don’t wait too long to pick yours – Father’s Day weekend is one of the most popular golfing weekends. 

Hiking and Biking with Dad
For families looking to explore the outdoors together, there’s no better option than visiting Hudson’s beautiful parks and trails. Walking, hiking, and particularly biking are popular Father’s Day activities in our neck of the woods. Best of all, Hudson has trails for every experience level. 

Young families and those looking for a more leisurely experience can visit the charming Lakefront Park, right in downtown Hudson. It’s a perfect choice for walking and cycling, with plenty of food, drink, and shopping options nearby. 

If dad’s a serious cyclist looking for a challenge, the 62-mile circle tour starting in Grandview Community Park is a rewarding trip to take together. You’ll pass through a striking variety of landscapes including six different lakes, rolling hills, and a rustic roadway on this substantial route. 

Other hiking and biking options include: 

• The St. Croix River Crossing Loop Trail – 4.7 miles open to walking and biking. 
• Willow River State Park – Offers hiking and mountain biking trails. 

Father’s Day Fishing and Boating
The river and lakes surrounding Hudson are iconic options for fishing and boating trips. If you or dad already have a boat, there are three different launches to choose from: 

• Corky’s Pier – a public ramp on Lake Mallalieu. This 289-acre lake is a popular choice for boating, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. This lake does not connect to the St. Croix River, however. 
• Ferry Landing – a boat launch into the St. Croix River, located in the village of North Hudson. 
• Lakefront Park – a popular public boat launch situated in downtown Hudson. Requires a small fee to use. 

For those looking to rent paddleboards, kayaks, or canoes, there are also several watercraft rental outfits nearby including in Homestead Parklands on Perch Lake and Glen Hills Park on Glen Lake.
