Description
A conflict of interest is when your personal interests might compromise your judgment, decisions, or actions in other areas of your life, like your workplace. In some fields, like journalism, a conflict of interest could be seen as detrimental to the credibility of the work that is being done. However, what about in politics? Or government? Or service organizations? Or business and industry? We will discuss a potential “spectrum of acceptability” when it comes to conflicts of interest arising in different sectors of our lives. How ethical is this spectrum? Should we be pushing for stronger ethics in all sectors? Join us for a Stout alumni panel interactive discussion about the different spectrums of conflict of interest and the ethical implications.
