Trading Specialist

The Trading Specialist will help support our Investment Department at IPG.  The primary role of the Trading Specialist is to bring value to the team beyond the predetermined duties outlined below.  The individual who fills this position must have creative problem-solving skills.
 
Responsibilities

• Own and maintain accurate model portfolio allocations within trading software
• Ensure excess cash across portfolios is invested in a timely manner
• Execute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly trades
• Trading for tax efficiency – run tax-loss reports and execute where opportunities present
• Raise cash for distributions and other client cash needs
• Assist in the processing and tracking of orders for private investments
• Create or maintain processes for ensuring unique account instructions are honored without fail
• Create and monitor account exclusions and exceptions
• Gain a deep and thorough understanding of all trading software(s) and how to align them with IPG model structures
• Running regular reports for the investment team, operations team, and other stakeholders

• Fully licensed or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Preferred 3+ years’ experience in trading operations – degree or not
• Preferred experience trading and implementing model portfolios and other wealth management trading execution functions
• Preferred experience trading stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and similar – knowledgeable of investment products
• Knowledgeable in trading and reporting software such as Black Diamond, Tamarac, Addepar, and similar
• Deeply detail oriented and ability to perform accurately under pressure
• Strong organization skills and ability to keep track of many complex and differing instructions for different accounts
• Ability to audit current trading procedures and implement best practices to ensure compliant trading functions
• Strong ability to problem solve within large amounts of data with time constraints 
• Work collaboratively with VP – Investments on implementing portfolio changes and rebalancing
• Ability to monitor for anomalies across the business’ portfolio of assets
• Ability and desire to both take orders for execution and possess strong professional judgment in recommending trading actions  
• Elevated communication skills with internal team and advisors
• Maintain strong relationships with broker/dealers, RIA, and other interested parties
• Willingness to create and improve internal processes relating to trading functions
• Ability to create reports and supporting documents for more complex trading proposals
• Execute rollover calls and own money movement processes
• Timely and punctual in executing duties
