UW-River Falls to present comedy, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] {again}”

Six costumed UW–River Falls play cast members pose cheerfully around an open copy of The Oxford Shakespeare against a bright green backdrop.

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Music and Stage and Screen Arts Department will present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] {again},” a fast-paced comedy by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, Nov. 13-15 and Nov. 19-21 in the Sanford Syse Theatre in Kleinpell Fine Arts, 420 E. Cascade Ave., River Falls.

Three performers attempt the nearly impossible: performing all of Shakespeare’s plays in a single evening. The result is a whirlwind of rapid-fire comedy and physical humor. Audience members need not be Shakespeare experts to enjoy the fun. For devoted fans of the bard or those who can barely remember Romeo and Juliet from high school, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] {again}” offers an irreverent take on some of the most famous plays ever written.

Adding another layer of entertainment, the production is double cast, giving audiences the opportunity to see two different ensembles put their own comic spin on the show.

The UWRF student cast brings the comedy to life under the direction of UWRF faculty member Kathy Welch, with scenic design by Kyle Gettelman.
